My Bronx...

This is 189th Street. Fire hydrons. I rememeber as a kid running into one every so often that was spraying cool water on a hot summer day. It didn't last long because there was usually a firetruck that would come by and shut it down. But it was just long enough to get wet and cool. Splash-Splash. As my sister Lena and I rode by real slow, one of those kids, tomorrows administrators, asked if we wanted a CAR WASH FOR $5.00. I remember as a kid how hard it was to make some money, so I told them, no thanks but I gave them 2.00 just for trying. I had just had the car washed. The Bronx. After all these years, its almost just the way I left it. Not many times you can revisit a memory.
